Relationship Check-In Questions for Couples

Updated August 2026

A good check-in asks a few honest questions and then stops. The point is not to interview each other — it is to create a small, regular moment where you both say how things really are. Below is a set of questions you can rotate through, from light to deeper.

Quick weekly questions

  • What was the best part of your week?
  • Did anything weigh on you this week that I didn’t notice?
  • Is there anything you want more or less of next week?
  • How connected did you feel to me this week, on a scale of 1 to 10?

Connection questions

  • When did you feel closest to me recently?
  • What is something small I do that you appreciate?
  • What is one thing we could do together this month that you would enjoy?

Deeper questions (use occasionally)

  • Is there anything you have been holding back from saying?
  • What is something you want us to work toward together?
  • How are we doing as a team, and what would make us stronger?

How to use these

Pick two or three — not all of them. Ask, then listen without immediately fixing anything. If a question lands somewhere heavy, it is fine to let it sit and come back to it. The goal is the conversation, not a complete answer.

Relationship builds these in as a weekly check-in you can complete in minutes, and tracks your consistency over time. See how it works.
