Privacy Policy

Relationship is a private companion for couples — shared journals, personality insights, mood tracking, and relationship tools. This policy describes what we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data.

We store the email address you register with and a display name you choose. Authentication is handled by the Base44 platform. Your password is never visible to us.

To share data with a partner, you invite them and they accept. Linking grants your partner access to the records you both choose to share (love notes, shared goals, watch activity, comments, the message board, and your shared Spec Sheet fields you mark shared). Each partner independently controls which Spec Sheet fields are private vs. shared.

Data is isolated per couple. Unrelated users cannot read your records. When you unlink, shared access is revoked across all couple-shared records.

This includes reflections, mood entries, Love Notes, Love Vault entries, memories, MBTI/personality results, compatibility information, shared goals, watch activity, wishlist items, comments, board posts, and Cheer Gifts. This content is stored so you and your linked partner can use it, and is not shared outside your couple.

Images you upload (e.g. memories, profile pictures) are stored as files referenced by your records. When you delete an account or a specific upload, we remove the database reference. Physical deletion of the underlying stored file depends on the file-storage capabilities of the Base44 platform; where immediate physical deletion is not supported, files may be retained by the infrastructure for a limited period.

Premium purchases on the web are processed by Base44 Payments (powered by Wix). We retain a minimal record of your purchase (plan, status, and provider transaction identifiers) to verify your entitlement and for accounting/chargeback purposes. Wix handles card data — we never see or store your full card details.

On native iOS/Android builds, where applicable, billing is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing under their respective terms.

Free and Premium plans are described on our Pricing page. Premium is offered as Monthly and Yearly plans only; no Lifetime plan is offered. Premium entitlement is verified server-side and is never granted by editing data in your browser.

Downgrading from Premium to Free never deletes your content. Your reflections, goals, wishlist items, memories, important dates, and relationship records remain safely stored. Premium-only historical views become locked, and Free creation limits apply to new items. Existing content that exceeds Free limits remains visible and is not removed. If you resubscribe, all eligible content becomes accessible again.

Relationship can send notifications through three channels: in-app (the Notification Center), email, and push. You control each channel and each category in Settings, and can set quiet hours in your timezone.

We only send the categories you enable. Partner-activity notifications are only generated for linked partners and never notify you about your own actions. When you unlink, partner notifications stop immediately.

Sensitive information — exact mood, journal entries, private reflections, and notes — is never placed on a lock-screen preview. Mood "support signals" to a partner require your explicit opt-in, use generic wording such as "someone you care about may appreciate a little extra support today," and never reveal your mood data. A "Private" preview setting replaces all push previews with generic wording.

Push delivery to a locked device requires a native app build with push credentials configured; until that is available, push operates as in-browser notifications shown while Relationship is open. Notification history is stored in your account and deleted when you delete your account.

Some features (e.g. insight summaries, conversation prompts) may use AI processing. Content you submit for these features is sent to the AI provider to generate a response. Avoid submitting information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.

Base44 (infrastructure, auth, database, file storage, email), Wix (web payments), and AI providers as described above. Each processor is bound by their own terms and handles data per their policies.

Access to your data is enforced by row-level security on every record. Premium entitlement and payment state are verified server-side and cannot be granted by editing data in your browser. We do not claim stronger security guarantees than the underlying platform provides.

We keep your content for as long as your account is active. Financial/payment records are retained as reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, chargeback, refund, and fraud-prevention purposes, even after account deletion, with unnecessary personal relationship data detached where appropriate.

You can delete your account from in-app Settings. Deletion removes your personal relationship content, dissolves your couple link, revokes partner access, and addresses recurring billing. Your linked partner's independently owned data is preserved. See the Delete Account page for details and for how a logged-out user can request deletion.

Unlinking ends shared access between partners. Each partner keeps their own creator-owned records; shared records become inaccessible to the former partner. Unlinking does not delete your account.

You may update or delete your content at any time, adjust sharing and notification preferences, and delete your account. Where legally required, you may request access to or deletion of your personal data.

Relationship is not intended for anyone under 18.

We may collect limited technical information such as browser type and approximate locale needed to operate the app. We do not use precise location tracking for relationship features.

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are useful. We track only aggregate, non-identifying marketing events — never journal content, reflections, notes, profile details, messages, partner information, or other private relationship data.

We use browser storage for authentication and your preferences (such as theme and onboarding progress). See our Cookie Policy for details. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Relationship may be available outside your country. If you access it from elsewhere, your information is processed where the Base44 infrastructure operates.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated where feasible, and the effective date above reflects the latest version.
